تدور أحداث الفيلم حول الروبوت وول-ي، وهو روبوت مُصمم لتنظيف الأرض المهجورة والمغطاة بالنفايات في المستقبل البعيد. يقع وول-ي في حب روبوت آخر إسمها إيف، فيتبعها إلى الفضاء الخارجي في مغامرة تُغير مصير جنسه والجنس البشري. يُظهر كل من الروبوتين مظاهر من حرية الإرادة والمشاعر، التي تتطور مع تقدم أحداث الفيلم.

يعود الجزء السادس من فيلم (المنشار), حيث المحقق (هوفمان) هو المحرك الأساسي للقضية, وباقتراب الشرطة الفيدرالية من القبض عليه، يضع هوفمان خطته لإيقافهم مستعينًا بألعاب وفخاخ مميتة شأنه شأن المنشار في الأجزاء السابقة.
